DHI…. direct hair transplantation

Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) is a hair transplant technique that involves extracting hair follicles one by one from the donor area and then implanting them directly into the recipient area. This technique is a modified version of the follicular unit extraction (FUE) method, in which hair follicles are harvested individually from the donor area. DHI is performed using a specialized device called a Choi implanter pen, which enables the surgeon to create tiny incisions in the recipient area and implant the hair follicles simultaneously. This minimizes the handling of the hair follicles and reduces the risk of damage or trauma to the grafts. The DHI technique offers several advantages over traditional hair transplant methods. It allows for greater precision in implanting hair follicles, resulting in a more natural-looking hairline and better hair density. It also has a faster recovery time and fewer post-operative restrictions than other hair transplant methods. Additionally, since DHI does not require the creation of a channel or slit in the scalp to implant the hair follicles, it avoids the risk of scarring in the recipient area.
